Lauritz Bjørnsen was born in 1660 in Vats, Rogaland. Lauritz Bjørnsen's father was Bjørn Ingvalden Egeland and his mother was Marita Larsdatter Sukka. His maternal grandparents were Lars (Laurs El. Lauritz) Aslaksen Sukka and Siri Jonsdatter. He had two brothers and four sisters, named Johannes Bjørnsen, Bjørn Bjørnsen, Haldis Bjørnsdatter, Astrid Bjørnsdatter, N.N. Bjørnsdatter and N.N. Bjørnsdatter. He died at the age of 69 in 1729.
Lauritz Bjørnsen and Marta were married.
