Oskar was born on April 10th, 1891 in Horten, Vestfold.1 Oskar's father was Karl Nilsen and his mother was Hilda Marie Hansdatter. His maternal grandparents were Hans Olsen Augedal and Ellen Olea Jørgensdatter. He had three brothers and three sisters, named Karsten, Karsten, Kjell, Hariet Niliane, Nelly and Hilda Marie. He was the third oldest of the seven children.-
