Runa was born on September 20th, 1955 in Husvik i Sem, Vestfold.1 Runa's father is Knut Eigil Østmann and her mother is Solveig Tollefsen. Her paternal grandparents were Jens Østmann and Edle Magdalene Hansen. She has two brothers named Alf Viggo and Jens Oskar. She is the second oldest of the three children.-
