Johannes Bjørnsson was born in 1795 in Sauar i Sauherad, Telemark.1 Johannes Bjørnsson's father was Bjørn Andresson Sauar and his mother was Ingeborg Andresdotter. He had two brothers and two sisters, named Andres Bjørnsson, Olav, Ragnhild Bjørnsdotter and Ragnhild Bjørnsdotter. He was the youngest of the five children.General Notes
