Olav Larsson was born about 1626 in Jørstad på Ombo, Rogaland.1   Olav Larsson's father was Lars Asgautson and his mother was Siri Olsdatter. He had three brothers and four sisters, named Asgaut Larsson, Lars Larson, Olav (Ola) Larsson, Birgitte Larsdatter, Marite Larsdatter, Rønnaug Larsdatter and N.N. Larsdatter. He had a half-brother and two half-sisters, named Hadle Larsson, Siri Larsdatter and Ingeri Larsdatter.
